Finally Exhumed

KSh 900

When Benjamin Mavuti Kivuthi passed on and in Hospital for that matter nothing looked suspect.  Expectations of the society was to hold a respectable burial for a man who had lived up to hundred years and pioneered development of schools, churches and many  community  projects.

Things however took a bizarre turn when two days before the scheduled date of burial the second family executed a clandestine burial with a handful number of persons in attendance.  Those who thought this was bad enough woke up to worse news of exhumation after around forty two days since the burial. The body was to remain in the mortuary for more than three months with two failed burial dates. The second burial was eventually conducted by the first family which was again nullified through a Court order requiring another re-exhumation and a third re-burial in the offing.

It is a worthy read touching on the very fibre of family existence and the relevance of Courts in maintaining and protecting law and order in our society.
